- Is StudySalary free?
- Yes. The timer, salary, portfolio, Study City, streaks and badges all cost nothing, and there are no ads. A few extra companions and room themes carry a Premium tag, but there's nothing to buy yet.
- Is the money real?
- No. You earn a pretend salary and invest it in a simulated portfolio. None of it has cash value, and nothing in the app is financial advice.
- Do I need an account?
- No. Open the app and start a session. Your progress saves in your browser. Sign in with an email link or Google if you want it on other devices too.
- How does the salary work?
- You earn by the hour, and you get paid when a full session ends. In Career mode your pay rate goes up as your Study City grows. In Custom mode you pick the rate. From your third session of the day you earn 10% extra, and from your fifth, 20% extra.
- What if I reset or skip a session?
- That session doesn't pay. Only a finished session earns salary, so your paychecks reflect real focus.
- What is Study City?
- It's your long game. As your net worth grows, your city adds buildings, starting with a desk and a dorm room and working up to a stock exchange. Investing grows a separate finance district.
- Is the stock data real?
- The tickers are real and the prices come from delayed market data, so treat the portfolio as a simulation. Market data delayed. Not financial advice.
- Can I study with other people?
- Yes. The Study Hall is open to everyone, guests included. Other people see your companion, a name you choose and whether you're focusing. They never see your email or your money.
- Can StudySalary remind me to study?
- Yes. Turn on Daily reminder in Settings and pick a time. On an iPhone, add StudySalary to your Home Screen first so it can send notifications.
- Where is my data stored?
- In your browser, unless you sign in. Signing in keeps a copy of your progress in your account so it follows you between devices. The privacy page has the details.
